Groups provide a safe space to explore interpersonal issues and learn new ways of expressing and communicating feelings and thoughts. Groups offer a structured approach to accessing and learning new skills of communication as well as providing and receiving empathy, compassion, and honesty in a non-judgmental and supportive atmosphere. Groups can focus on general issues, such as intimacy, grief, and emotional resilience, or on more specific issues, such as parenting challenges, youth struggles, or issues related to adult caregiving.
This group focuses on providing psycho-education, practice, and implementation of Mindfulness, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, and general support for managing the symptoms of anxiety and depression. Through purposeful and intentional skills development, participants will address their specific needs related to triggers of anxiety and depression, and learn to intervene with coping skills to regulate emotional reactivity, self-soothe in times of distress, and improve overall functioning in life.
This group focuses on providing psycho-education, practice, and implementation of Mindfulness & and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills targeting the symptoms and behaviors related to ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Mindfulness Awareness practices assist with emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Participants will develop plans of action related to their specific needs and goals, and will develop the skills and tools to effectively manage and respond to situations which trigger the symptoms of ADHD and OCD.
This group provides a structured, safe and supportive environment in which to explore the triggers, needs, and effective interventions for coping with stress and developing skills to address anger and impulsivity. Anger is a useful and productive emotion, when channeled properly, but can also be a destructive force in many people's lives. Learning to honor your anger and stress reactions while effectively reducing their intensity, and learning to respond in proactive and healthy ways, will not only improve your emotional control, but also provide opportunities for growth and empowerment. Skills from Mindfulness, DBT/CBT, and anger management will be explored, developed, and applied to your specific needs and life situations.
Parents' work never ends. This group provides support and psycho-education regarding effective parenting skills, while also offering guidance and skills for managing stress, boundaries, and self-care strategies to keep you moving forward. Specific parenting needs will be addressed, including problem-solving for challenging parent-child situations and interactions.
Children are often the unfortunate casualties of Divorce. Breaking up a family can be painful, even with the best of intentions. Honoring and respecting our children, and holding space for their emotions, questions, and needs, assists children and adolescents to adjust to the changes, while also providing space for them to explore all of their emotions, responses, and reactions they hold related to the divorce. This can greatly reduce lasting negative impacts and beliefs that youth may internalize or externalize when they have no space to safely express their thoughts and feelings.
This group provides support and space for adult caregivers to share their experiences and learn how to better navigate and cope with the challenges of caring for elders and dependent adults. You don't have to go through this journey alone; having support from like-minded people can offer space for the full range of your emotions, as well as provide a supportive community who understands and can help you meet these challenges with greater strength, confidence, and tools.
